'Trauma Tapping' in Afghanistan
Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder is Afghanistan’s most prevalent mental health issue. With extremely limited mental health services available, many suffer alone and in silence.
Working alongside our team members in Afghanistan, we’re pleased to announce we have now set up a ‘Trauma Tapping Technique’ (TTT) space in Kabul and have begun providing tapping sessions to women and children. As this community is predominantly ‘food insecure’, we are also offering food packs to all those who attend the sessions.
TTT is a simple but effective form of physical therapy which relieves symptoms of trauma, stress and other mental health issues. Having successfully implemented the technique in refugee camps in Lesvos, we really hope the community in Afghanistan will find these sessions beneficial.
With thanks to Barzo Baher for his efforts in organising this new project.
