Trustee Role Recruitment (Greece)

November 17, 2020

Would you be interested in the opportunity to work with an expanding registered UK and Greek charity providing medical care to refugees in Greece?

We are looking for experienced and committed individuals to join our Board of Trustees.

“We believe that healthcare is a human right, not a privilege”

Kitrinos Healthcare’s mission is the relief of sickness and the preservation of health amongst refugees by providing healthcare services to those in need. We have been assigned by the Greek Ministry of Health and Migration to care for refugees in Greece.

We have operated in 20 camps and locations across Greece, and currently provide healthcare services in Kara Tepe Camp, Lesvos Island. Our services include triage & referral, wound care and chronic health care, and we are currently the only NGO on the ground providing free medication for those with chronic illnesses.

What are we looking for in our trustees?

Kitrinos Healthcare is growing and expanding its services in Greece. We are seeking committed individuals to strengthen the board at this critical and exciting time. We wish to recruit enthusiastic Trustees with an interest in humanitarianism and empathy towards refugees and asylum seekers.

Person Specification

> Greek resident with Greek tax number
> Sharing our common ethos and mission statement
> Good 'people skills’
> Impartiality, fairness and the ability to be respectful
> Willingness to actively engage with the UK and Greek teams

Trustees will ensure that the charity is being run in line with Charity Commision guidance and the governing document.

Typical Duties

> Ensuring that the charity follows its governing document
> Supporting in the preparation of accounts for authorities
> Planning and participating in the annual cycle of Trustee Board meetings
> Monitoring that decisions taken at meetings are implemented
> Ensuring effective and efficient administration

Practical Considerations

Board meetings are currently being held quarterly over Zoom. Although this is an unpaid role, trustees may expect a reimbursement for agreed expenses incurred in undertaking their role. They may be recruited to offer competitive rates for paid services such as accountancy or legal support.

If you want to make a difference to vulnerable populations and help our charity grow in response to the continuing refugee crisis, please email your CV and covering letter to Nosheen Khan at admin@kitrinoshealthcare.com.
