For the Attention of Prospective Volunteers

Doctors and Nurses Needed in Lesvos!

We’ve been really encouraged by the rise in volunteer applications during this difficult period following the Moria fires, which destroyed our clinic and most of our medication and equipment. However, we still need doctors and nurses in OCTOBER 2020. If you can spare 5+ weeks (including quarantine) to volunteer with us, please apply here.

While we are no longer operating in our clinic, our team of doctors and nurses are still on the ground providing healthcare to refugee patients in several undisclosed locations in Lesvos.

It is vitally important to be aware that COVID-19 is present amongst the refugee population, with over 200 confirmed cases as of September 22nd. We will now require volunteers to provide a medical certificate of good health to confirm that they are fit to work in these high-risk conditions. We thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

We are also currently unable to accept applications from medical students and non-medical volunteers, but hope to be able to welcome you some time in the future! At the present time, volunteers must be prepared to assist in a non-medical capacity additional to carrying out our medical services. This may include helping to distribute food and water with other organisations on the ground.

We have a duty of care for our volunteers who selflessly carry out our mission to serve the refugee population in Lesvos - which is not without risk. If you have any concerns or questions, please don’t hesitate to contact us at for more information. Thank you,

'Team Kitrinos'
