Over the past three months, our volunteers have been hard at work in Camp Moria on the island of Lesvos, providing vital healthcare services and support to refugees in need. Over 5,000 people have come to our clinic between October and December to ask for help with a wide range of health issues, from everyday coughs and colds to serious chronic and life-threatening conditions. Scabies, chronic pain, injuries, PTSD and depression are just some of the issues we were faced with on a regular basis. However, despite the dismal camp environment and the shadows of past trauma that hang over many of the camp residents, we are always struck by the resilience, patience and humility of the people we treat.
